Svetlana Vadimovna Morozova is the face and editor of vajska.rs and provala.rs. She lives in Vajska.
Journalist and editor
A historian by training, she has worked in journalism since 1999 (BLITZ.plus). For many years she edited online media, so a local site where every fact is checked is a natural continuation of that work.
Books on the cuisine of southern Russia
Svetlana is the author of the series “A Culinary Journey through Southern Russia” (Russian: Кулинарное путешествие по югу России, published by IM Media, Moscow):
- Taganrog. Stories and recipes (2021): the multinational cooking of Taganrog, family recipes of its residents and the history of the city that nearly became Russia’s capital (LiveLib);
- Krasnodar. Stanitsa food of a southern metropolis (2023): the cooking of the Kuban stanitsas and why Kuban borscht is made without beetroot (Chitai-gorod);
- Rostov-on-Don. Old districts and unusual recipes;
- the combined edition Taganrog, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar. Stories and recipes of southern Russia (LitRes).
She loves to cook and collects cookery books. That is why the site has a food section too: what is cooked in Vajska and Bačka, and what of it you can try at home.
